Stoneledge owners are required to submit landscaping requests in writing using the designated form 061526. Requests received by the 1st of the month will be reviewed in that month's committee meeting. Requests received after the 1st of the month will be reviewed in next month's committee meeting. For easy reference, the request form, planting guidelines, and the approved plant list are located on the Stoneledge website – stoneledgehoa.com.
If drawings or sketches are needed, please email directly to Landscaping Committee Chairperson, Cheryl Blalock, [email protected] so the Committee may place your drawing with your form. Please name your drawing file: Owner name, address, and date (for example: Castilano 436 Sunset 4.30.26). Please note these key points.
1. All requests for cutting, limbing, tree or bush removals, or additions require approval from the Landscaping Committee.
2. If your requested change involves cutting/digging into the soil in the common area around your town home, all service lines that are running underground must be scoped and marked by the appropriate agency to avoid damaging utility lines,
The owner accepts responsibility for any utility line damage that occurs during planting. To locate underground utility lines in Stoneledge, dial 811, or 888-721-7877. This free service requires a request at least 3 full business days before you start digging. It notifies local public utility companies to come and mark the lines on your property with color coded spray paint – Red: electric, Yellow: gas. This service does not mark private utility lines such as buried lines going to a detached garage.
3. You do not need approval to plant annuals. You also do not need approval to plant either annuals or perennials in pots, which are ideal options for homeowners that are not here full-time.
4. If your request is to replace or add plants, please only select plants from the Stoneledge approved plant list on the Stoneledge website.
5. If your request involves the planting of new shrubs, the owner or someone identified by the owner must note responsibility to routinely water the newly planted shrubs as we do not have yard irrigation. Note that it typically takes 3 years to establish new plants/shrubs.
6. If owner is requesting the installation of new shrubs or a renewal of their landscaping, owner must indicate if they want to trim/maintain their common area landscaping or that the Stoneledge HOA landscaper is to maintain this area. There is not an option to divide or identify individual or specific shrubs to self-maintain.
7. If you are using an outside contractor to perform any landscaping work, proof of liability contract/insurance by any proposed installer is required prior to installation. We recommend using Stoneledge approved landscaping contractors which include Dorn’s Landscaping Services (Michael Dorn) 864-324-4040 or Willow Tree Landscaping 864-859-2888.
These guidelines are in accordance with Stoneledge HOA covenants Article 7, Section 2.
